Lumbini Park- Located opposite the Secretariat Road, Lumbini Park is next to the Hussain Sagar Lake. Spread over 7 acres, this park, although comparatively small, offers many interesting choices to spend your time. Here, you can watch the 3 D laser show or have a relaxing picnic. Boating at the lake is also a popular activity here.
Necklace Road- When out sightseeing, no one can miss the necklace road. This beautiful stretch of road connects Hussain Sagar Lake and three parks- NTR Gardens, Lumbini Park and Sanjeevaiah Park. The view of the lake from the walkways here is worth capturing, especially the massive statue of Gautam Buddha in the middle of the lake. You will find many restaurants and food stalls along this road.
NTR Gardens- As you enter NTR Gardens, you are greeted by a huge spread of green lawns, dotted with trees and flowering plants. It has many attractions to interest every visitor, including Japanese Garden, Desert Garden, Giant Wheel, Roaring Cascade, etc. You can also go for a Toy train ride or boating here.
Birla Mandir- At an altitude of 280 feet above sea level, Birla Mandir stands atop the Naubat Pahad. This temple, built completely in white marble from Rajasthan, displays striking architectural beauty. The main deities in this temple are Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi.
Birla Science Museum- When travelling with children, this is a must visit. Birla Science Museum is ideal to spend a few hours learning about various scientific concepts in an entertaining manner. It has a science centre, A Dinosaurium, an art gallery, museum and a planetarium.
Birla Planetarium- Anyone who wants to experience the mystery of the cosmos should visit Birla Planetarium. An engaging and technically advanced Sky Show, takes all the viewers into the depth of the universe and far away galaxies. There is also a telescope for sighting planets.
Nehru Zoological Park- Located near the Mir Alam Tank, Nehru Zoological Park was established in 1959 and opened to the public in 1963. This zoo is home to many wild animals, rare species of birds and reptiles and has rich flora. On its 380 acres of land, you can go for a safari tour for spotting animals like lion, Bengal, bear, etc. Various feeding sessions and educational shows are also conducted every day. There is also a natural history museum within this zoological park.
